About DrummingKids.com

HI,

I’m Richard

Welcome to drummingkids.com, the place where I share my knowledge about drumming and teaching as well as some collected thoughts about this art form.

I am passionate about music and teaching. My primary instrument is the drums, but I also play and teach the flute.

I have a 20 month old daughter and I love children! The joy of watching children grow and learn is simply fun! This spark my interest to start a website on teaching drums to beginners . Do join me regardless whether you just started playing the drums, still deciding if you should take up drum classes or have been playing for a while.  Age is never a barrier here!

I am teaching drum classes in two music school in Singapore. Gramercy Music School and Asia Music School. Gramercy Music School is located in NTU Alumni Building(Near Dover MRT) 3rd floor Tel: 6772585, while Asia Music School is located at Yishun Central 1 Blk 925 #01-231 S(760925) Tel: 6756 1265 and 154 West Coast Road, West Coast Plaza #01-61 s(127371) Tel:67795065

I use teaching materials that I have collected over the years as a drummer, I teach based on these materials or if the students would like to take graded exams, I use teaching materials from Trinity Rockschool.

I also write my own drum materials using the music engraver software lilypond

There are many benefits in learning any musical instruments, and learning the drums is the best way to instill rhythm, a keen sense of tempo and hand eye foot co-ordination, and of course not forgetting “the COOL factor”

Drumming is FUN! If you are still thinking of taking up drum classes, why not come and join me for a trial class? Contact the schools above for more information!

Meanwhile, enjoy this website and I hope you get some valuable insights.

Please feel free to comments on this website, and be nice, nasty comments shall be removed by me. Have a question? Contact me direct, I would be happy to respond!
