About DrummingKids.com
Hello,
Welcome to drummingkids.com, a website dedicated to:
- Parents who are thinking of sending their children for drum classes, and would like to find out more,
- Children, teenagers and young adults who want to learn drumming but clueless about what to do, and how to prepare for classes,
- Drum teachers to share their experiences about teaching, exchanging pointers on how to improve their teaching abilities and overcoming any challenges they face during lessons.
I am Richard Ng, I am passionate about music, teaching and children. I teach both the drums and the flute, and I enjoy every moment of it!
I have a 2 years old daughter and I love children! The joy of watching children grow and learn, in my opinion, is one of THE most rewarding experiences life can offer! I started teaching drums a little over two years ago, and I am surprised that there is little information that parents can read up on drumming for their young ones. This is the reason why I started drummingkids.com; to inform, to share and to prepare parents, children and drum teachers for this exciting journey.
Do join me on this journey, regardless whether you just started on the drums, still deciding if you should take up drum classes or have been playing for a while. Age is never a barrier here!
I am presently teaching drums in two music school in Singapore. Gramercy Music School and Asia Music School.
Gramercy Music School is located at NTU Alumni Club @ One North #03-02, 11 Slim Barracks Rise, (S)138664 (Near Dover MRT) 3rd floor Tel: 6777 2585.
Asia Music School is located at Yishun Central 1 Blk 925 #01-231 S(760925) Tel: 6756 1265 and 154 West Coast Road, West Coast Plaza #01-61 s(127371) Tel:67795065
I teach from my own drum books, or if students are keen to take graded exams, I use teaching materials from Trinity Rockschool UK.
I also write my own drum teaching materials using the music engraver software lilypond
There are many benefits to learning any musical instruments, and learning the drums is one the best way to develop a sense of Rhythm, a steady feel of Tempo and good Hand, Eye and Foot co-ordination. Of course, let’s not forget “the COOL factor”!
Drumming is FUN! If you are still sitting of the fence, thinking whether or not you should take up drum classes, why not come and join me for a trial class? Contact the above schools for information!
Meanwhile, enjoy this website, I will do my best to give as much as I can, and hopefully you will get some valuable insights on learning or teaching drums.
Please feel free to comments on this website, and be nice. Have a question? Contact me direct, I would be happy to respond!
